Haut de Lièvre is an estate of massive blocks that hangs above the town of Nancy. It was built in the 1950s out of concrete slabs, and the blocks are truly enormous: the Cèdre Bleu is 450 metres long and for a long time was considered to be the longest building in Europe. Over 3,500 people of 52 different nationalities live in the seven such blocks that make up the estate.
